NexPlanner is the second of the two tools on the Counseling Desk, beside the NexProfile. It searches for occupations that fit them and works out what it would take to get there.
It has three modes. They share most of their machinery, so rather than three tours, here is what genuinely separates them.
| Mode | Answers | Uses labour-market data |
|---|---|---|
| Learning Path | What could I train for? | No |
| Job Hunt | What can I apply for, where, now? | Yes |
| Go Solo | What could I do working for myself? | No |
Which to use
Start with Learning Path unless there is a reason not to. It works from the participant's assessment results and education routes, and it is the right shape for someone whose next step is study rather than a job application.
Use Job Hunt when they are looking for work now. It is the only mode that overlays real labour-market information — vacancy levels by country and region, and live job listings. Choose it when where and when matter, not just what.
Use Go Solo for self-employment. It is Learning Path with one extra step at the front, where you pick between freelancing, running a business, and private practice. The participant's own results suggest which of the three fits.
What they have in common
All three working modes end the same way: you build up a set of occupations and they land in Suggestions on the Planning Board, tagged with the mode they came from. Nothing is committed — Suggestions is the unsorted pile, and you and the participant sort it together.
They also share the analysis step: ESCO skills, learning needs, and matching against real education programmes with their fees, teaching languages and deadlines.
Internal moves
There is no mode for moving within a current employer. If that is the question, use Learning Path and treat the internal route as part of the conversation — the occupations and skill requirements are the same, whoever the employer ends up being.
What NexPlanner does not do
It does not decide anything. It narrows a very large list down to a handful worth discussing, using evidence. Which of those is right for this person is the conversation you have with them.
