Most career tools reduce a person to an average. We think that's the problem.
NexPath is an operating system for career guidance, built on a single conviction — the truth about a person lives in their sharpest signals, not the bland middle a standard test produces. This is what we stand for, and why we built a company around it.
Six things we refuse to compromise on
An average erases the person.
Add up a hundred answers, take the mean, and everything distinct about someone dissolves into a forgettable middle. A person's sharpest strength is the most important thing about them — so it's the one thing we refuse to average away. NexEngine™ isolates where someone genuinely shines, then ranks the careers that fit it.
What a standard test does to a real profile: the peaks that matter get flattened into an average. NexPath keeps the peaks.
A score you can't question isn't science.
Most tools hand you a number from a black box and ask you to trust it. We show the math — a transparent, inspectable method any counselor or client can follow. Trust is earned through openness, not asserted through branding.
A test in the wrong language is a reading exam.
Answer reflective questions in a language you don't think in, and the tool measures your translation speed, not your potential — reading slows down, and the result misrepresents you. Everyone deserves to be assessed in the language they actually think in. Not translated. Localized.
An honest ‘no match’ beats a confident wrong answer.
When a role genuinely has no equivalent, we return nothing — never a fabricated match. A made-up answer is worse than an honest gap. It's why we map 98.8% of the world's two official occupation taxonomies, and openly leave the rest blank.
The counselor is the point — not the algorithm.
We don't automate away human judgment; we hand the counselor a finished, transparent starting point so their time goes to the part only a human can do. The best guidance is a person, equipped — not a chatbot, unsupervised.
Good guidance shouldn't depend on where you were born.
A student in Helsinki, a job seeker who arrived last year, and a career-changer three countries away deserve the same quality of insight. We build so that native-language guidance isn't a privilege of the few.
The founder was a data point that got averaged.
NexPath's founder, Shahram Soboutipour, spent seven years studying medicine and earning his license — walking the safe, expected middle instead of his real signal: computer science.
He knows exactly what it costs to discover the wrong fit too late. His medical training taught him to read people at depth; his return to technology gave him the means to do it at scale.
NexPath is the instrument he wishes had existed — so that no one else spends years being the average of everyone's expectations.
The tool that could have shown me, years earlier, that I was on the wrong path.

What we have done — and what is still early.
Where the technology has been used
More than 100,000 people have used NexPath's assessment technology — most of them through a separate deployment we operate in another market, under a different brand. NexPath's own platform in Europe is newer, and we say so below.
Early in Europe — and we say so
We won't dress up a pilot as a movement. From October 2025 to May 2026, NexPath ran in the City of Helsinki's EdTech testbed at 2 upper-secondary schools: 157 student accounts were started and 136 evaluation cycles were completed. That is small, and it is real. We want to take what we learned there to more schools and countries.
